Kicking off this Summer in Berlin, then on to London and Copenhagen, the 20 Years of Nike SB exhibit stamped its passport in Barcelona this past weekend for its final European stop.
We premiered three videos, including Tor Ström’s latest with Karsten Kleppan and Friends, a clip with Cata Diaz, and Petar Stantchev’s part for Thrasher. Additionally, we invited shops to experience the 20 Years exhibit, wear test the all-new BRSB, and enjoy one of skateboarding’s capital cities.
Friday’s session at the infamous Barcelona-Sants train station brought a familiar obstacle for those paying attention this summer: the oversized SB box first unveiled at Copenhagen Open. Skated as a ledge then bump-to-bench, prizes were handed out for those ripping the hardest.
Saturday started early with Amigos Skate Shop and Cata Diaz hosting a brunch and signing session. Who doesn’t love coffee, doughnuts, and signed black & white prints?
From brunch it was straight to Born Plaza for an all-girls session.
The day wrapped at the exhibit space premiering Cata’s part as well as Petar Stantchev’s newest clip for Thrasher, both coming soon to your favorite platform.
Throughout the weekend, several shops hosted events or tagged along for the ride as they test the BRSB, available now in skate shops globally and nike.com.
Quick heads up...Unfortunately, all of Tao’s gear (camera, lenses, laptop and more) was stolen from his hotel, so keep an eye and ear out for any rumblings of gear for sale if you’re in Barcelona. Check Tao's Insta for details.
